Project Overview

The renovation of Strub Hall at Mayfield Senior High School required a lighting solution that could honor the building's historic architectural character while meeting the performance and safety standards of a modern educational facility. The historic corridors and hallways - original to the school's storied campus - called for fixtures that would enhance the sense of heritage and craftsmanship without disrupting the architectural integrity of the space.

To achieve this balance, the design team selected Belfer's WS7215 LED Wedge Lens™ Wall Sconce for installation throughout Strub Hall's corridors and hallways, delivering warm, consistent illumination that complements the building's traditional detailing while providing the energy efficiency and durability required for daily student and faculty use.

Design Intent

The lighting design for Strub Hall was guided by a commitment to preserving the historic character of Mayfield Senior High School's corridors while introducing modern, energy-efficient performance. The WS7215's clean, minimalist Wedge Lens profile was selected to complement the hallway's traditional architectural detailing without competing with it visually.

Dimmable ELV1 control allows the corridors to shift seamlessly between bright, functional daytime illumination for student circulation and softer, ambient lighting during evening events - supporting both the practical and ceremonial uses of the historic hall.

Installation Highlights

Installation was coordinated to align with the preservation-sensitive nature of the Strub Hall renovation, ensuring the WS7215 fixtures integrated cleanly with the corridor's existing millwork and architectural trim.
