Wall Wash Lighting in medical center patient rooms

Project Overview

The North Shore Cancer Center, part of Mass General Hospital in Danvers, Massachusetts, provides world-class oncology care in a welcoming and supportive outpatient environment. Focused on healing, comfort, and dignity, the design of the facility emphasizes calming architecture, natural light, and patient-centered details—including lighting.

To achieve these goals, Belfer Lighting’s Reflex RX1320 indirect LED fixtures were specified in treatment rooms, hallways, and the main lobby to deliver soft, ambient illumination that promotes a soothing experience for both patients and healthcare professionals.

The Reflex RX1320 indirect LED fixture is specifically designed to deliver high-performance, glare-free illumination in sensitive healthcare environments. At the North Shore Cancer Center, the RX1320 was installed in:

  • Patient Treatment Rooms – providing soft, indirect lighting to reduce stress and support a therapeutic setting

  • Corridors & Hallways – ensuring well-lit, easy-to-navigate spaces for patients, staff, and visitors

  • Lobby & Reception Area – creating a welcoming and modern environment with balanced ambient light

The RX1320’s low-profile housing and architectural-grade finishes blend seamlessly into the facility’s clean, minimalist interior design—while delivering consistent, high-efficiency lighting across all zones.

Lighting Objectives
