Wall Sconces in living room alcove of private residence

Project Overview

This thoughtfully renovated attic study in a private Minnesota residence transforms a once-unused space into a bright, modern home office. The design balances architectural charm with contemporary function, calling for a lighting solution that was compact, efficient, and visually minimal. Belfer’s WS7215 Wedge Lens LED wall sconces were the perfect fit—delivering warm, indirect illumination while preserving the clean lines and cozy character of the attic's sloped ceilings and walls.

Lighting Solution

The WS7215 Wedge Lens LED wall sconce was installed along the angled walls and vertical surfaces of the attic office. Its low-profile form and soft uplight make it ideal for small or narrow spaces where headroom and wall space are limited.

Fixture Specifications:

  • Model: WS7215 Wedge LensLED Wall Sconce

  • Light Source: 3000K warm white LED

  • Dimming: 0–10V dimmable for ambient control

  • Finish: Black Powder Coat

  • Distribution: Indirect uplight to softly illuminate sloped ceiling surfaces

Design Intent

The goal of this attic conversion was to create a peaceful, light-filled workspace that didn’t rely on harsh overhead lighting. The WS7215's angled body casts light upward, allowing it to gently bounce off the pitched ceiling, visually opening the room and minimizing glare.

The fixtures provide functional task lighting during work hours and soft ambient light for evening use, helping the attic become a multipurpose retreat for reading, writing, and thinking.

Installation Highlights

  • Compact size fits seamlessly within low ceiling geometry

  • Indirect light reduces eye strain and adds architectural depth

  • Fixtures spaced to provide even coverage across the room

  • Integrated with home’s existing dimming controls for flexibility

Results

The WS7215 Wedge Lens LED wall sconces have transformed this attic office into a welcoming and productive environment. The lighting enhances the architectural lines of the attic, complements the minimalist furnishings, and creates an atmosphere that supports both focused work and relaxation.
